SNOWPOST® & SNOWLIGHT® composite posts are radiopaque,
thanks to the presence of zirconia in the glass fibers (patented).
The bigger the diameter of the post, the higher the radiopacity.
Very important: the lowest quantity of X-rays must be used,
too much X-rays cannot be absorbed and make the post non visible. |

A study on the radiopacity of fiber-reinforced resin posts performed by Pr. W.J. FINGER, W.M. AHLSTRAND, DDS & U.B. FRITZ, DDS gives the following conclusion:
"although the radiodensity of fiber resin posts cannot approach the appearance of metal posts on a radiograph, their mechanical characteristics, matching favorably with dentin, and their bonding efficiency with adhesive resin lutin cements are convincing arguments for their use in endodontic restorative dentistry. Posts with a radiopaque filler loading such as FiberKor, or in particular zirconium glass fiber loaded posts such as the brands Snowpost® and Snowlight®, have the additional advantage that they offer an acceptable radiopacity for unequivocal recognition on a dental radiograph."
